The College of Education and Allied Studies has been named an Apple Distinguished Program.
Two yeas ago, iPads became a mandatory part of the college’s educational programming, issued to students and to full-time faculty.
For BSU’s future educators, iPads enable the development of individualized lessons for students, the ability to upload and produce books and other digital media, enhancement of literacy and vocabulary building, access to content-rich sites, and a myriad of engaging and interactive apps to improve and update all areas of instruction.
When BSU took the imitative to incorporate technology Dean Lisa Battaglino said, “This is transforming teaching and learning.”
Apple recognized BSU’s iPad initiative as a distinguished program for demonstrating an innovative and compelling learning environment that engages students and provides tangible evidence of academic accomplishment.
“This is an exciting time, where students have been born with technology in their hands,” said Provost Barbara Feldman. (Story and photos by Caitlin Seddon, University News)
