The Global Film Series at Bridgewater State University is presenting "Even the Rain" with a discussion led by Dr. Erin O'Connor, associate professor of history, Thursday, April 17 at 4 p.m. The film will be screened in Maxwell Library's Heritage Room. A film-within-a-film that addresses both the history of Spanish imperialism and contemporary politics concerning water rights, the film is set in 2000 when real-life protests against the government's privatization of water rocked the nation. The film blurs the line between fiction and reality and offers a complex exploration of the plight of Latin America's dispossessed.
