This fall, the Plymouth Philharmonic Orchestra, under the direction of Steven Karidoyanes, will perform a family-friendly concert to benefit Bridgewater State University’s Martin Richard Institute for Social Justice.
The program, titled Inspiration, Hope and Joy – has been selected just for this occasion, to celebrate the richness and joy of community. The concert will also the BSU Wind Ensemble, Dr. Donald Running, director, and members of the BSU Family Performing Arts Center, Colleen Rua, artistic director, and Lisa Troy, producing artistic director.
Attorney General Maura Healey will be on hand to narrate music from Aaron Copland’s Lincoln Portrait as part of the performance. The concert will be held on Sunday, Oct. 1, at 3 p.m. in the Rondileau Campus Center Auditorium. Tickets can be ordered through www.BSUTix.com and at the BSU box office, located in the lobby of the auditorium, which is located at 19 Park Ave., Bridgewater.
The Institute for Social Justice is named for Martin Richard, the youngest victim of the Marathon tragedy, whose parents are both alumni of BSU and met as undergraduates. Members of the Richard family, who are deeply involved in the work of the institute, are planning to be in attendance for the concert.
