The members of the Information Technology Division are working on Cape Cod-based Habitat for Humanity projects throughout the year to fulfill their Martin Richard Social Justice Pledge.

The pledge is an ongoing effort of the Martin Richard Institute for Social Justice that was formally dedicated this fall. A statue of the youngest victim of the Boston Marathon bombings that inspires passersby in University Park was unveiled this fall. His parents, Bill and Denise Richard, are Bridgewater graduates and Martin had aspired to attend Bridgewater.

Working at a Habitat project in Harwich in early November were Ray Lefebvre, vice president for Information Technology and CIO, pledge coordinator; Kathy Flaherty, ’91, project manager; Trish Jones, help desk manager; and Dr. Mick Jones, professor of economics

Cuong Vu, director of systems, and Dave Marion, security manager, will be at the Harwich site on later this month while others in IT are looking for dates to volunteer.

Located on Oak Street, the Harwich site is comprised of seven houses that were started on June 2 and targeted for completion on March 30. Families have been selected to live in the homes. Another Habitat for Humanity of Cape Cod project is ongoing in Eastham.
