They came in droves this weekend, new and returning students, wheeling their belongings, meeting new and old friends, and gearing up for another school year.
Athletes and a number of other students moved in earlier this month in order to get a jump on things. But recent days saw the annual ritual in full swing. Friday a trickle of upperclassmen made their way into Scott Hall, and Saturday, first-year students were flowing into Shea-Durgin.
Students were excited about reaching a milestone in their young lives, while parents like Joanne Booth of Bellingham admitted to being a bit “teary” over leaving her son Austin in his new residence hall.
President Frederick W. Clark Jr. was on hand Saturday to welcome the new arrivals and carry a box or two.
