Madhavi Venkatesan, assistant professor of economics, recently shared with a reporter the reasons she places such a high value on the learning of core economic principles.

“I am passionate about this discipline. Economic studies should be as important as understanding the English language. It should be taught K through 12,” Dr. Venkatesan said. “I feel so blessed to be an economist because nothing matters without economics. Economics is the basis of everything. I feel fortunate to have stumbled on my discipline in a random walk.”

The book, Economic Principles: A Primer (Kona Publishing) gives readers the low-down in just 130 pages. Read more about the book in this Wicked Local Cape Cod article. (Portions of a Wicked Local Brewster article were used in this post.)
