If the campus of BSU felt like Hollywood East as of late, that’s because the Campus MovieFest was celebrating the work of more than 500 students who participated in the annual event.
Sixteen films were screened inside the RCC ballroom, before an audience of hundreds. Among them were the four films that will represent BSU in Hollywood this July for the Campus MovieFest finale. The top films were
As It Was - Directed by Mark Matheson, ’16
Drunk - Directed by Jake Miller, ’16
Gone Viral - Directed by Kelly Boyle, ’15
Making Memories - Directed by Shannon Molinari, ’16
These directors, along with six other students who participated in the making of the films, will travel to Hollywood for the finale.
Other awards presented during the campus screening were
Dana Reid - Best Actor for his role in Shadow Gods
Shannon Molinari - Best Actress for her role in Making Memories
The film, The Flaw in Mind, earned Best Soundtrack.
The Alumni Association will be sponsoring a BSU Alumni Event on Saturday, July 11th at CMF Hollywood, capitalizing on BSU’s strong alumni base in Los Angeles, along with many BSU alumni, who have moved out West and are now working in the entertainment industry.
