Dr. Cathy Sandeen
Dr. Sandeen of Washington, DC, is Vice President for Education Attainment and Innovation at the American Council on Education (ACE). Before joining ACE, she served as Dean of Continuing Education and UCLA Extension at the University of California, Los Angeles. Prior senior positions in higher education include Vice Provost and Dean of University Extension and Summer Session at the University of California, Santa Cruz, as well as Assistant Dean of Educational Support Services for the School of Dentistry at the University of California, San Francisco. Dr. Sandeen earned her PhD in Communication from the University of Utah and also possesses an MBA from UCLA, an MA in Broadcast Communication from San Francisco State University and a BA in Speech Pathology from Humboldt State University. She has held teaching positions at a number of institutions including Mills College, Santa Clara University and Stanford University.
