Bruce Machart, associate professor of English, spent the month of May as the writer-in-residence for the Aspen Writers’ Foundation. The program brings selected writers to Woody Creek for a month-long stay at the Catto family ranch.
According to an article in the Aspen Times, Professor Machart arrived with 150 pages of his next novel, tentatively titled, Until Daylight Delivers Me, and hoped to add another 100 while in Colorado.
The book is not a sequel to his acclaimed 2010 novel The Wake of Forgiveness, he told the paper, but draws on some of the same locales and characters.
